The Indians
Da un viaggio a New Orleans, culla del Jazz, nasce la voglia del trio The Indians, di far rivivere l’atmosfera frizzante del sud della Louisiana attraverso le note dei più grandi classici del jazz, ma anche con i ritmi afroamericani delle canzoni popolari di strada e con le toccanti “second line” delle marching band e delle funeral parade. Mentre il sassofono, le percussioni e il piano suoneranno i temi più noti, la vostra mente vi porterà in un viaggio spazio temporale, tra le brulicanti vie agli albori del jazz. Non riuscirete a trattenere i vostri piedi al ritmo della musica mentre il vostro cuore verrà rapito dalla magia dei suoni della più ammaliante città della Louisiana. L’ensemble, oltre a proporre un repertorio dedicato alla città di New Orleans, spazia con eleganza tra i grandi classici del jazz e indimenticabili melodie dagli anni 20 agli anni 50. A capitanare il trio è il sassofonista, clarinettista e cantante Marco Benny Pretolani, sulla scena jazz nazionale da oltre 15 anni come sassofonista solista dei “The Good Fellas” con i quali ha partecipato a molti festival internazionali tra cui Umbria Jazz e collaborato in spettacoli teatrali con i comici “Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo” e “Cochi e Renato”. Sin dalla prima edizione è solista nell’house band del Summer Jamboree suonando per tante stelle del rock and roll mondiale tra le quali Ben E. King (Stand By Me) e Lloyd Price (Mr. Personality). Il suo profondo amore per la musica da ballo lo spinge ad affinare un linguaggio classico ed elegante specializzandosi su un panorama sonoro che spazia dagli anni venti agli anni sessanta. La sua idea del trio “The Indians” è quella di poter esprimere il proprio stile attraverso una miscela di musica orecchiabile e ben suonata.

A trip to New Orleans, the cradle of Jazz, gave rise to the desire of the trio The Indians, to revive the sparkling atmosphere of southern Louisiana through the notes of the greatest jazz classics, but also with the African-American rhythms of popular street songs and the touching “second line” of marching bands and funeral parades. As the saxophone, percussion and piano play the best-known themes, your mind will take you on a journey through time, through the bustling streets of the dawn of jazz. You won’t be able to hold your feet to the beat of the music while your heart is enraptured by the magic sounds of Louisiana’s most enchanting city. The ensemble, in addition to offering a repertoire dedicated to the city of New Orleans, elegantly ranges between the great jazz classics and unforgettable melodies from the 1920s to the 1950s. The trio is led by saxophonist, clarinetist and singer Marco Benny Pretolani, on the national jazz scene for over 15 years as solo saxophonist of “The Good Fellas” with whom he participated in many international festivals including Umbria Jazz and collaborated in theatrical shows with the comedians “Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo” and “ Cochi and Renato”. Since the first edition he has been a soloist in the house band of Summer Jamboree, playing for many stars of world rock and roll including Ben E. King (Stand By Me) and Lloyd Price (Mr. Personality). His deep love for dance music prompts him to refine a classical and elegant language, specialising in a sound panorama ranging from the 1920s to the 1960s. His idea of the trio “The Indians” is to be able to express their style through a mix of catchy and well played music.
